About us

Welcome to our web site. We are breeding whoodles and whoodledors. A whoodle is a cross between a soft coated wheaten terrier and a poodle, and a whoodledor has some Labrador thrown is as well. The idea being the resultant offspring will be good natured, good looking with plenty of character and have soft non shedding coats.

We have chosen to breed whoodles because we have a 13 year old neutered wheaten terrier that has been a delightful, entertaining, loyal family pet. However we thought that breeding purebred wheatens could be a bit boring as they are all the same colour. Combining wheaten terriers and poodles seemed an ideal solution, both breeds have non-shedding curly coats, poodles come in a variety of colours and sizes, and the loyal devoted personality of a poodle mixed with the gentle friendly wheaten can only result in the perfect companion pet.

We have included Emmy who is half wheaten terrier and half chocolate labrador in our breeding programme because wheaten terriers carry a black gene which is dominant over chocolate, hence it is not possible to achieve true chocolate puppies in a first cross whoodle. We expect that some of  Emmy’s whoodledor puppies should be chocolate, and being ¼ labrador should enhance the devoted pet personality we are aiming for.

The combination of either 2 or 3 different breeds of dog to make our puppies with no back crossing should help reduce the risk of the inherited diseases that are significant problems in pedigree dogs.

If you want a unique soft fluffy friend that is a good practical size then a whoodle or whoodledor may be just perfect for you.

Our Dogs

The Stud

Bear is a Whoodledor. His mother is Emmy Below, and his father is a minature (middle sized) chocolate poodle. He has a lovely quiet nature and a soft wavy, non shedding coat.

The Girls

Cookie is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Cookie, like Milo has a friendly quiet nature. She has a soft non shedding fleece coat.

Muffin (on the right in this photo) is also a Soft Coated Wheaten terrier. Her coat is wavy, and less curly that Cookies. Muffins and Cookies puppies are very similar.

Emmy is a Chocolate Wheaten (chocolate Labrador x Soft Coated Wheaten terrier). She has a lovely nature and is very willing to please, and extremely athletic and intelligent. We currently don’t have a stud for Emmy, but will probably cross her to a wheaten terrier or poodle.

On the right is a whoodledor puppy from Emmy and a chocolate poodle. Bear above is also from this crossing.
